METER CO-ORDINATOR
A Customer First Approach
Direct Metering Agreements
1
What is a Direct Metering Agreement (DMA)?
A DMA is a contract for electricity metering services between a Metering Coordinator and a Large usage customer.
This means if you use a lot of electricity (over 100MWh annually NSW/ACT, other states vary), you can enter an agreement for your metering services directly with a Metering Co-ordinator such as Green Metering
2
What are the benefits of a DMA?
Under a DMA:
-
Reduced Cost: Negotiate your contract length and you may achieve a reduced annual rate for your metering services.
-
No Interruption: If you switch energy retailers you can keep the same metering provider and not have to interrupt your service with a change of meter
-
Data: Access to your consumption data when you need it
3
What will it cost and who do I pay?
Your DMA metering charges will be charged by your retailer and included as a line item on your retail energy bill.
The only change you will notice is the rate and total charged, which will now reflect your DMA charges rather than the rate charged by your retailer.
